CHIEF JUSTICE COMMISSIONS THE FIRST EVER COURT IN AGONA EAST DISTRICT

Stakeholders of Agona East District with all gladness, gathered at the forecourt of the newly built District Court, at Agona Nsaba to witness its commissioning by His Lordship, Justice Anin Yeboah, the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, on Thursday, 27th April, 2023.

The District Chief Executive of Agona East District,Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil, thanked the President, His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo for fulfilling his promise by building a District Court in Agona East, the DCE urged residents of the District to utilize the facility accordingly, to settle cases to ensure maximum peace in the District.

Mr. Kingsley Adjei Boahen, the Regional Coordinating Director, speaking on behalf of the Central Regional Minister said this particular project would soon be expanded to Districts without Court.

He advised that proper maintenance culture should be adopted to ensure that the facility last longer.

His Lordship Justice Anin Yeboah said, the Judiciary Service of Ghana must see to the peace attainment by National thereby fulfilled their mandate by providing a conducive working environment that reflects the dignity and authority of the Judiciary.

Nana Okeseku Afari Mintah III (Omanhene of Nsaba Traditional Area and President of Nsaba Traditional Council) commended the Government for considering the District by putting up of the District Court as promised, which has relieved the District from wanting a conducive District Court for justice dispensation.

On this day, 21st April, 2023, marking the celebration of the end of the holy month of Ramadan (Eid ul-Fitr), a festival that is widely recognized and celebrated by Muslims all over the world.

Following this Memorial Day, Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil, the DCE for the good people of Agona East, donated over 100 bags of rice to Muslims and other Muslim communities, within the district.

The District Chief Executive reaffirmed her appeal to Muslims to be steadfast, kind and to keep praying for Agona East and National Peace.

Amidst the prayers and the supplications of this important occasion, the holy month is deemed a wonderful time to reflect on Allah's magnificence.

May our thoughts and all that we seek be accepted by Allah now and always.

On wednesday, 15th March, 2023, the Gender Studies Team and Human Right Documentation (GSHRDC) a Non Government Organization visited Agona East District Assembly to monitor the activities in the District. They gave assurance that, they will still be operating within the District and the Country at large for more activities.

Agona east District Assembly marks 66th

Independence Day celebration at Nsaba presby park

On the 6th of March,2023,right after the District Independence Day Celebration at Nsaba Presby Park, Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil (DCE,Agona East) together with Nana Okeseku Afari Mintah III (Omanhene of Nsaba Traditional Area and President of Nsaba Traditional Council),Mr. Alhassan Mohammed (District Coordinating Director),Mr Thomas Kwofie (District Director of Education),District Police and Fire Commanders,Constituency Executives,Assembly Members and party faithfuls handed over a ten seater water closet toilet facility to the management of Nsaba Presbyterian Senior High School.With an existing population of over 1000 female students, the the girls side had only one toilet facility which was in a deplorable state and no water supply.

Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil in her presentation reiterated the enormous impacts made by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the NPP Government towards education in our dear country and urged the students and staff to properly use and maintain the facility and also pledged the support of her office towards the completion of other uncompleted projects in the school to enhance learning and teaching.

The headmaster of the school,Rev. Kenneth Osafo Amankwa together with his staff and students received the facility with joy and thanked the President,His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the DCE and humbly call on Agonaman,major stakeholders and the entire Nsaba community to channel their resources in some impactful projects in the school.

Janet Odei Paintsil,DCE Agona East) to the good people of Kwesitwikwaa (KTK), during the celebration of their Annual Akwanbo Festival. This donation is to support the building of their community center.

The DCE for Agona East District,Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil together with Constituency Executives, Polling Station Executives,Assembly members and party faithfuls commissioned a three unit classroom building (JHS Block) today at Agona Tawora.

This is in fulfillment of Government’s promise of providing and distributing educational facilities across the country and communities for easy accessibility which is aimed at promoting comprehensive development and empowerment to the citizenry.

The DCE also made a special donation of 100 school uniforms to the school to support learning and teaching which forms part of her initiative to make education accessible and attractive in Agona East.

In her address at the ceremony,she reiterated President Akufo Addo’s commitment to ensuring that adequate infrastructure and logistics are provided for educational institutions at all levels in our country, she also charged the students to make the best out of the huge investments government is making in their education and take advantage of the Free SHS Policy.

The DCE, Hon Janet Odei Paintsil expressed hope that these communities would respond in return by supporting the

government to transform Ghana.

On Wednesday 21st December, 2022, Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil,DCE for Agona East officially commissioned and opened the Mankrong Nkwanta community market with a “Farmers Market” event.

The event was primarily to open the market which was started and completed by the Agona East District Assembly under her office.

In her speech to the people, she appealed to them to patronize stuff sold at the market so that the market will grow and become one of the biggest markets in the district. She also added that, the market is principally to give farmers the opportunity to market and get their farm produce sold without sending them to Swedru, Bawjiase and Kasoa markets which mostly cause a lot of inconveniences to them.

The Mankrong Nkwanta market is expected to serve the Mankrong,Akwakwa,Fante Bawjiase,Akrabong,Nkwanta, Oketsew and other neighbouring communities. The market days for the place were said to be Mondays and Thursdays.

The DCE was accompanied by the Coordinating Director of the district, District Agric Officer, Assembly members,leading Constituency Executives,Electoral Area Coordinators,Polling Station officers,Loyal Ladies of the NPP,Party faithfuls and other officers from the Agona East District Assembly.

She was most grateful to the chiefs, opinion leaders and the entire community for coming in to support the occasion.

On the 28th and 30th December,2022,Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil, the DCE for Agona East, sent delegations to honor the festival celebrations of these communities- Ofoase and Ninta Following the festival occasion of the two communities, they petitioned the DCE to assist them build community centers.

The DCE on this day she presented 50 bags of cements each to the two communities to help them to construct new community centers.

Honorable promised to be of great service to the these communities and the district at large.

On Wednesday,28th December, 2022, the District Chief Executive of Agona East, Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil graced the 2022 edition of the Tufohene’s Cup held at Agona Asafo.

The event was organized by Nana Kwabena Ayensu II (Tufuhene of Agona Asafo) to mark his 30 years of enstoolment.

The tournament featured the various suburbs: Odumase,Anaafo/Salem,JY,Nkwanta,Zongo,Kwadaso, among others in Agona Asafo.

The DCE honored the occasion and donated a set of Jersey,Football and packs of bottled water to support the friendly competition.

She joined the Nananom and the organizers to watch the first match of the of the tournament, which featured Zongo and Anaafo/Salem.

Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil used the opportunity to wish them merry Christmas and a happy New Year and urged them to preach and practise peace and unity in all their endeavors.

HON JANET ODEI PAINTSIL JOINS THE CENTRAL PRESBYTERY OF THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF GHANA TO MARK CENTENARY CELEBRATION.

The District Chief Executive of Agona East, Hon Janet Odei Paintsil, joined the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante at the Thanksgiving Service of the Central Presbytery to mark 100 years of the existence of the Church in Nsaba.

The Central Presbytery of the Church, with its headquarters in Agona Nsaba, is 100 years this year. Under the auspices of the Presbyery Chairman, Rev. Fiifi Foh Arkhurst, Hon Janet Odei Paintsil was invited to join in celebrating “100 years of God’s grace…” at the Ebenezer Congregation in Nsaba.

The event, which was attended by many high dignitaries of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and State officials, also dedicated the ground floor of the office complex of the Central Presbytery of the Church.

The attendance of the DCE, as Special Guest of Honor, was timely as she pledged her continuous support to the Church and acknowledged the role that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has played in the history of the Agona East District. She admonished the church to continue its partnership with Government to promote development in the country. In her speech, she recalled that “Nsaba Presby Senior High started as Teacher Training College in 1962, and has become the face of Presbyterian culture, discipline, principles of service and leadership in Agona East”.

The DCE donated 50 bags of cement to the Central Presbytery as well as an undisclosed amount of money to support the office complex project being undertaken by the Church.

On Thursday ,14th July 2022 the Hon. DCE, Obaatanpapa Janet Odei Paintsil handed over a six unit ultra modern classroom block at Agona Duakwa and Agona Duabone to the Catholic school.

This project was part of the numerous projects initiated by Prof. Kwesi Yankah in 2020 through the Ministry of Education.

The six unit classroom block includes a well furnished staff common room and an ICT laboratory.

Present were the District Education Director , the headmaster and teachers of the school,traditional leaders and PTA.

This project comes as a relief to the school due to lack of space for children to study.

Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil is committed to education in her district and so is the President of Ghana.

The District Director of Education gave thanks to the President of the republic, Prof. Kwesi Yankah and the DCE for helping to make such project a reality.

Justina Marigold Assan(Central Regional Minister), Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng (former MP for Mfantseman Constituency), National Executives, MMDCE’s,Regional Executives, Constituency Executives, Electoral Area Cordinators, Polling Station Officers, Grassroots supporters of the New Patriotic Party and sympathisers to mourn with the family and the people of Mfantseman as they bid their final farewell to the late Mfantseman Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Gibrine Adams.

Yesterday,28th July,2022,on behalf of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the DCE cut sod for the commencement of a Community Health Planning and Services(CHPS) compound at Agona Duotu.The project is an initiative to improve health care in Agona Duotu and the surrounding communities as well as fulfilling the promise of the NPP government to extend health care to rural communities for easy accessibility.

Later in the afternoon, the DCE cut sod for school building project to commence at Agona Tawora.

On Sunday, 10th July, 2022, the District Chief Executive of Agona East, Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil graced the maiden edition of the Obrempon 91.7FM Sala Gala, held at the Swedru Sports Festival.

The event was organized by the leadership of the Zongos in Agona West, which also featured Kotokoli Zongo which is in the Agona East. The DCE who had to attend within a short notice from her team graced the occasion and donated packs of bottled water and drinks to support the friendly competition.

She kicked the ball to commence the friendly competition which featured 4 different zongos; 3 from the Agona West and 1 from Agona East. Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil used the opportunity to wish them well and urged them to preach and practice peace in all their endeavors.

Earlier today, Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil (DCE, Agona East ) joined our Muslim brothers and sisters at Agona Kwayanko Methodist Park for this year's Eid-Ul-Adha thanksgiving prayers and celebration.

The DCE expressed her gratitude to the Muslim community for their contributions towards national development and she implored them to pray for Allah’s Grace,Peace,Mercy and Prosperity for Agona East District and our dear nation.

The District Imam prayed for her and asked for Allah’s blessings and protection in all her activities.

 

GREEN GHANA DAY

( AGONA EAST DISTRICT)

On this day, 10th June, 2022, marking the celebration of GREEN GHANA DAY, where every district must endeavor to take to task by planting thousands of tree seedlings within their jurisdictions. Justifying the exigency and the relevancy of the program,Agona East District joined the train led by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil.

In the quest for Agona East District to look greenie, the DCE played a crucial role by supplying and planting tree seedlings with schools, hospitals,farmers,institutions and some individuals in the district.

After having finished her district, the DCE joined R&B farms and some important dignitaries who also graced the occasion at Gomoa Nsuaem. Among those dignitaries include:former President, H.E John Agyekum Kufour, the National Chief Imam, His Eminence, Sheikh Dr. Usmanu Nuhu Sharabutu,Minister for Fisheries and aquaculture, Hon. DISTRIBUTION OF SANITARY PADS AND TALKS ON MENSTRUAL HEALTH AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES WITHIN AGONA EAST

The District Chief Executive of Agona East. Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil has shared over thousands of sanitary pads across the Agona East District. The timely gesture which was coupled with menstrual health education to the young girls in some selected schools and villages across the district happened from Thursday 23rd - Friday, 24th June, 2022.

The event was attended by Representatives from the Agona East Education Directorate and the District Health Directorate.

According to the DCE, since she has experienced the discomfort that sometimes comes with the monthly cycle as a woman, it’s appropriate to periodically educate the young girls about some dos and don’ts regarding it, as well as providing them with sanitary pads since some cannot afford it. She said the distribution could even reduce teenage pregnancy, as some men take advantage of getting the innocent girls sanitary pads and later sleep with them.

Hon. Jane is bent on replicating this gesture periodically in order to eradicate, if not, reduce the excesses that is mostly associated with menstruation amongst young girls in Agona East

On Saturday 14th May 2022, the District Chief Executive for Agona East attended the graduation ceremony of Dressmakers at Agona Kwayanko.

Hon. Janet highlighted on the need for capacity building in apprenticeship training as part of the agenda of government to support the youth to gain requisite skills and knowledge for job creation. She reiterated her preparedness to support anybody who wants to undergo such training in her district.

Speaking to the aspirants,delegates and association members,She emphasized that unity within the association after the internal elections is crucial. It is the same vein that she urged the members to do all they could to appeal to feuding parties to reconcile.

DCE JOINS THE ISLAMIC COMMUNITY AT KWANYAKO TO CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF PROPHET MOHAMMED.

Joined by the Nasara Coordinator and some members of the Islamic Caucus in Agona East, Hon. Jane joined the good people of Kwanyako to celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed(moulid).

The occasion was graced by eminent men and women of the Islamic fraternity of the Tijania's. Dignitaries Present were Alhaji Tanko(Tijjania President of Ghana).

DCE MOURNS WITH THE FAMILY OF HON. JOHN KWESI AGYABENG.

This weekend will go down in history as one of the memorable and historic days in the culture, politics, and development of our dear district, Agona East. The founder of the district, former DCE, former,former Presiding member, former Assembly member, and former unit committee member was laid to rest at Agona Duakwa on the 12th of February 2022.

The ceremony was graced by eminent men and women across the length and breadth of this country. Hon. Justina Marigold Assan, Prof. Kwesi Yankah,Hon. Robert Kutin Jnr, Hon. Asamoah Boateng, the leadership of Central region NPP, Constituency executives from central region and across the country, Ministers of state, representatives from the seat of presidency, members of Parliament, the National Queen mother's Association, Leaders of Agona Nyakrom Traditional council, Nsaba Traditional council, MMDCE’S and many party faithfuls and friends just to mention a few.

I was privileged as the DCE to welcome many of these dignitaries to this memorable occasion. It is my prayer that the Almighty God will replenish all that has been lost, and multiply them in double folds.

Hon. John Kwesi Agyabeng lived a life that is worthy of emulation. We must continue to live to impact positively on others as he did for Agona East and Ghana.

Once again, may he rest peacefully in the Bosom of his Maker.

HON. DCE INSPECTS ONGOING ROAD'S INSPECTION

Early this morning, the DCE for Agona East District Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil inspected the state of work on the major road that connects Swedru to Bawdwiase.

As part of President Akufo Addo's YEAR OF ROADS projects, Swedru to Bawdwiase road has been awarded for construction.

The contractor is currently on site and pledged to speed up the rate of work to ease transport on such a major road that connects the Constituency to the big cities to enhance numerous economic activities.

DCE CONNECTS FOUR VILLAGES TO ELECTRICITY IN AGONA EAST.

For the first time in the history of Four villages in agona east, their communities are yet to be supplied with electricity. Honourable Jane earlier yesterday supervised the delivery of four transformers to four villages in agona east. Already, their electricity poles have been erected, with wire cables mounted waiting for the final phase of completion. Thankfully, with the help of the Hon. DCE and Prof. Yankah the transformers were transported to site yesterday for commencement. The benefited villages are:

1. Okotokwaa

2. Osuankwaa

3. Kofi Abam

4. Dauda.

The essence of governance is to improve the living conditions of the ruled. This is basically what the Nana Addo government seeks to do with the mandate of Ghanaians.

Once again, our hardworking DCE for Agona east, Hon. Janet Odei Paintsil in colaboration with NADMO donated 50 packets of roofing sheets and some relief items ( rice, oil, mackerel, etc.) to suppport victims of Monday's rainstorm in Agona East.

Specifically, Kwansakrom electoral area and Agona Nsaba (Adwenpaneye electoral area).

This is part of government's commitment through NADMO to support the ordinary Ghanaian, particularly the people of Agona East district in times of Crisis.
